In fact, the band, who sold more than 40 million albums worldwide before going on 'hiatus' in 2003, loosely discussed plans to reform earlier this year, but Dolores has instead insisted that they will return to both the stage and the recording studio in the near future.

I have difficulties to believe in that...  but I pray for it...
Maybe she answers what the journalists and fans want to hear... without really truth....

They will come back for sure but I don't think that's gonna happen too soon as she said. Though it would be really good for almost all of us 

By the way, what made them to think that she confirmed this will happen soon? She only said "in the next year or two it would be a really nice thing to do". I don't find any kind of confirmation that they will come back soon

I feel that it is a big jump to conclude from that statement that Dolores is "confirming" a reunion of the Cranberries.  I don't see how so many people draw that conclusion.  To me she sounds like she can definitely see it in the future and it is an option for sure but not a definite thing.  I mean, Dolores alone didn't/doesn't make up the Cranberries.  The guys also have to say "Yes, we will reunite."  And really,  until I hear a more definite "YES" from more than one member of the band, I'll call them on continued hiatus or disbanded.

I really think some people are reading way too much into that statement.
