Hola there! This morning i found this review: "In a weird way, former Cranberries frontwoman Dorlores O'Riordan has something in common with Eddie Vedder, her crooning being as divisive as Vedder's grunge-yodelling. Just as Vedder's pipes limit the sort of music he can perform, so O'Riordan seems predestined to restlessly pace around the same musical patch; calling her album No Baggage is almost too desperate, suggestive of a hint of underlying neurosis. Her sophomore solo effort, however, spends little time on the psychoanalyst's couch, kicking off with a couple of pop songs (Switch of the Moment and Skeleton) that are so polite on the ears that they could easily have been recorded for Melanie Chisholm, if it wasn't for O'Riordan's husky Irish growl slathered all over them. As No Baggage progresses though, it blossoms, and the penultimate piano track Lunatic and Coldplay-like Tranquilizer suggest that once Dolores has stopped trying to write 'chart-topping songs', the real music can begin."Here's the link: http://www.theskinny.co.uk/article/46417-dolores-oriordan-no-baggage

Another one new review: Ex-frontwoman of chart-topping rock band the Cranberries, Dolores O’Riordan, has successfully produced her second album No Baggage, which is (excuse the pun), somewhat of a mixed bag. Lead single The Journey, epitomises the ideas behind the whole album which Dolores describes as being about her “moments”, good moments such as her being with her family and darker moments but, in her words: “no matter how bad things may seem, it’s not really that bad in the big picture”. The Journey was a welcome surprise in that it moved away from her usual single releases, which often come across as careless attempts at chart-toppers. It has incorporated almost jungle-like percussion with striking vocals, leaving the usually prominent guitars lower in the mix. Despite the changes, this track still feels a little out-dated, reminiscent of a classic 90s song structure.
Aside from a few old habits appearing there are various highlights on the album. These include the opening track, Switch Off The Moment which first introduces the lyrical motif of “moments” and is far more modern than some of the following tracks. Fans of Switch Off The Moment and Throw Your Arms Around Me may also enjoy much of Imogen Heap’s work, who also uses reverberation effects over her vocals and occasionally a vocoder to create an echo-like sound. Stupid is another highlight with a fantastic piano arrangement, accompanied by heavenly vocals; the only downfall being the introduction of percussion halfway through, which feels like an unnecessary addition to what would have been a simple masterpiece.
Described as a very personal collection to her, Dolores has opted to include a re-recorded version of Apple Of My Eye. Hardly transformed, this seems like a bit of a filler, and unfortunately some of the other singles-to-be also lack that certain something that makes them appeal to the wider populous. Fortunately, other tracks such as the final two Lunatic and Tranquilizer redeem the album in the final minutes, with long piano arrangements and Coldplay-like melodies. Although there are some new elements and a few really convincing tracks, No Baggage is unlikely to convert any haters, however it will reaffirm fans in the knowledge that Dolores does still have the power to deliver first-class music.Source: http://www.themusicmagazine.co.uk/reviews/4808
