10/01/2008 Rock critic Brian Boyd has tipped Arkitekt as one of his favourites for the year ahead in The Irish Times' Entertainment magazine 'The Ticket'. Here's what he had to say... "Guitarist Noel Hogan and singer Richard Walters first met up in the The Mono Band. The guitarist used a revolving series of singers on The Mono Band's album, but has now permanently linked up with Walters to form Arkitekt. An EP released last year, Black Hair, was a dazzling introduction with the band sounding a bit like early Bowie backed by The Smiths' rhythm section. Suede's Bernard Butler is currently putting the finishing touches on their album." http://www.ireland.com/theticket/articles/2007/1228/1198509868452.html

Of course, Black Hair EP is a great work and it worths a lot of recognition. I hope that the forthcoming album will be as good as the EP is, Bernard Butler is an amazing musician, his view will be a good point in the album... he's written the melodies for the first albums of Suede and everybody said that that band had a great loss in quality when Butler left.

er...it's obviously not Richard siging... wrong tags, or maybe, it's a band with the same name ( sounds unlikely, but it is the case for mono band), so last fm assumed it was one same band? edit: I googled up the album title and ended up there: http://www.isound.com/arkitekt/albums/1080631/what_makes_your_world_go_round/looks like there is another Arkitekt band...in the united states. I wonder if they have heard of each other?

I don't think april 21st is the release date, to me it means that they will be in studio that day, as on myspace blog, march 4th, it said "Still hope to have the album finished by this summer and out soon after" I wish you were right, though

More interesting news on arkitekt website: 19/04/2008 Hi All. We will be in Sun studio in Dublin (Ireland) from next Monday for a week, we are looking forward to get some of the new tracks finished and hopefully we will have some samples up online soon. Matt Vaughan who worked on the first Mono Band album has been working on some of the new tracks for the past few weeks, also a friend of Richard's, Joss Albert, has been mixing another new track. At the moment this track is called '58'. All of these tracks will be on the Arkitekt album out later this year. We will be recording some video in the studio next week and hope to have it online as soon as we can. - Arkitekt
