lol
I was a language major and find it fascinating on different dialects.
Being American we tend to forget the other English accents.
We along have about 10 different accents here.
SO sometimes I can be taken back at a heavy Irish,Australian or English accent.
But I understand what someone is saying when I start to think of myself speaking in that accent.
Dolores has a very heavy Irish accent and called a Limerick /Cork accent very different from the Dubliners.lol. Reason being I assume is the Gaelic influence .
Northern Ireland is more English/Scottish influence.
One guy best described it (from the profile on RTE) that he was happy to see someone with that accent singing on TV in Ireland as seems not too many singers come from the Southern part of Ireland.
I met some people this summer from Limerick who also speak Gaelic and had the same accent as Dolores.
Gave me a big smile as I love their accent. They sang in Gaelic
Their accent was contagious as I was starting to speak like them.lol
My mom tells me to do their accent
